Flushing the Nib

Remove the cartridge or converter.


Flush the nib and gripping section with cool water.


A converter not being used for ink can be used to flush the nib by drawing cool water up through the nib and forcing the water out.


Lightly blow air through the nib assembly to clear all liquid out of the nib.


Dry the nib and gripping section with a lint-less soft cloth.


Repeat this several times, then dry the nib and gripping section with a soft cloth or paper towel.

Placing New Ink Cartridge

Remove the front end from the water and rinse it with a slow stream of cool water.


Gently blow into the nib assembly to remove any excess water.


We recommend that you dry the nib and gripping section with a soft cloth or paper towel.


You may now place a new ink cartridge or an ink converter into the front end.

Clearing an Obstruction

If a pen clogs, place the nib and gripping section in a cup of cool water.


Let the nib and gripping section soak up to 24 hours. Parker ink is water-soluble and will dissolve in water.

How to Store Your Pen

The nib should remain writing point up when not in use to avoid drying or clogging of the nib.


Place your pen into a pen case or pouch to protect against scratches and keep the finish looking new.


How to Fly with a Fountain Pen


When flying, store your fountain pen with the writing point upright when not in use. Ensure that either a full refill is inserted or the existing refill is removed prior to the flight.

When should I clean my fountain pen?

Cleaning your fountain pen between each ink refill is recommended - follow instructions and demonstration above.


How do I replace my nib or get it repaired?

Parker provide a free nib exchange service within 28 days from purchase date if the nib is in pristine condition. Please visit the Nib Exchange Programme for more details and eligibility.

Most Parker retail partners can also assist with the exchange or repair of your fountain pen nib. Please contact your local store before travel to confirm if they provide this service.

If you are requesting a free repair or replacement, proof of purchase and a picture of your pen, including the size of the nib you require will be requested. All information to help you can be found here.

If the nib is in pristine condition and if the new required nib belongs to the same model, the nib exchange will be free of charge. Otherwise you will receive a quote.

Return the complete pen in order to protect the nib during transit.


How long is the warranty valid?

If your pen was purchased with a lifetime warranty, the lifetime warranty will be honored according to the warranty card against defects in materials and workmanship

In 2007 Parker introduced a limited warranty period of 2 years with the option of a free 2 year extension available online.

All repairs covered under the warranty require proof of purchase (eg. receipt or invoice).
